Attack on Titan
Overview
“Attack on Titan” is written and illustrated by Hajime Isayama. It was in monthly magazine, Bessatsu Shonen Magazine published by Kodansha Ltd., Japanese publishing company, from September 2009 to April 2021. It was published into 34 volumes. “Attack on Titan” exceeds 100 million copies worldwide and it is one of the best-selling manga series. It has won several awards, including the Kodansha Manga Award (2011), Harvey Awards, Best international Book (2014), Sugoi Japan Award, Manga Award (2015) etc.

Story
After the crisis of extinction of humanity by man eating titan, people were living inside the wall build to protect them from titan. A boy named, Eren Yeager, lived in Shiganshina district inside the wall. In year 845, the wall was breached by two new types of titans. After Eren’s mother was killed by a titan, Eren joined the military along with his friends, Mikasa Ackerman and Armin Arlert in order to avenge his mother. In the Survey Corps of the expeditionary force, he sought the way to eliminate all the titan from the world.

Best character development
The protagonist, Eren Yeagar is one of the most outstanding characters. He grew up from an innocent boy into a fearless warrior who would sacrifices his life for his cause but later turns into someone who lose faith in peace. What makes this manga different from others is that Eren’s thought and purpose is hidden in a veil of mystery until the very end of the series.
